Negative carbon footprint
Our products are CO2-binding when used as they are a renewable resource. The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) shows that the production of 1 m³ of fill binds 95 kg of CO2. The CEMWOOD fills made from renewable resources improve the carbon footprint of buildings and as aggregate (e.g. lightweight concrete) reduce the carbon load of the building materials.
Building with CEMWOOD – Minimizing gray energy
What is actually “gray energy”? Gray energy is the primary energy required to construct a building. Gray energy includes energy to extract materials, to manufacture and process building components, to transport people, machines, components and materials to the construction site, to install components in the building, and to dispose of them. The use of local materials and resource-efficient construction can minimize the amount of gray energy used in a building.
